We're enjoying a great second intro
session, and the choreography classes are working up an
excellent surprise monster project for the next student
recital. We're looking forward to workshops with Hadia
and Lesya Starr, and continuing our quest for
tranquility in the midst of a maddening
world.

fast-faced, passionate Turkish/Gypsy choreography of
Lesya Starr, which Chantal has peppered with spice she
learned while studying in Turkey, Spain and Romania. An
exuberant, joyful dance filled with stomps, spins and
passion.

Stars
a journey from the Golden Age of
Egyptian Dance to the modern era

is your chance to discover and learn the techniques of
the Great Egyptian Stars of Oriental dance, including
Samia Gamal, Naima Akef, Fifi Abdo, Dina, Aida Nour,
Randa Kamal and more. A full day of Hadia's
skillful system and easy-to-understand breakdowns that
will leave you ready to incorporate the techniques and
styling of these masters into your personal
style.
Followed
by a gala show at 8pm in the lovely Crystal Ballroom of
the Walper Terrace Hotel.

Teacher Training with
Hadia
Level 3 certification course is
now open for registration.
Haft Vadi Studio will be
hosting Hadia for the certification level of her
amazingly valuable teacher training course.
Those
who have completed Levels 1 and 2 anywhere in North
America are welcome to register for the Level 3 course
which includes an assessment and a chance to be a
certified teacher of bellydance.

Bazaar and Video Night, Friday,
June 22
featuring a MONSTER SALE on
Sharif Wear
Long overdue, it's time
for a bazaar. And it's time for a video night. Why not
do both?
Bring your gently used bellydance
clothes, CDs, DVDs, etc. and include some "free to a
good home" items.
We'll run videos of bellydance
performances and documentaries as long as we have
stamina! Please bring some snackage to keep us fueled.
Sharif Wear will be sold at amazing savings to
make room for new stock for the fall.
Arrive any
time after 7pm. Please let me know if you'll be
coming. Bring your own tables, racks, etc. A lawn chair
or something similar for comfy video viewing would also
be a good idea.

Reflections on the Life
of the Spirit
a spiritual study circle based
on the sacred writings of the Baha'i
Faith
Topics include learning how to study
and meditate on sacred writings, understanding the
concept of prayer and it's significance in daily life
and the realities of life and death from the perspective
of the life of the soul.

Vadi is hosting a devotional gathering, open to all
followers of any religion or spiritual path. During this
hour, all our communication (whether prayers of words,
music or movement) will be directed towards the
divine. Attendees have included followers of
Pagan, Jewish, Christian, Baha'i and Native
spiritual traditions. All are welcome to participate or
just sit and soak up the vibe....

Lesya Starr coming to
Kitchener
August 25 and 26th,
2007
I'm thrilled to announce that the amazing Lesya Starr will be coming to
Kitchener August 25 and 26th. I've been a fan of Lesya's
for many years after having seen her perform in Dancers
For Peace, produced by Sashar Zarif. She's an incredibly
gifted and spiritual dancer, and it's an honour to have
her come to Haft Vadi.
I finally got the chance to meet her in person at the
International Bellydance Conference, and after some
star-struck stammering on my part, asked if she would be
willing to come work with the dancers in Kitchener.
We're still working out the details of what she will
teach. You can help by looking at Lesya's Workshop Topics and sending
your votes to me. |
