Schedule and Registration
New for fall 2009, Haft Vadi Bellydance will be specializing in private and semi-private instruction, as well as thematic classes in rhythm and dances from particular parts of the Middle East, such as Egypt, Lebanon and the Persian Gulf region. All classes will include some instruction in the cultural, historical and musical contexts of the dances.
Maybe your office friends, knitting club or book club want to try something new? Then talk to Dharlene about setting up your own customized one-time lesson or a session that you design: choose your own number of weeks, time and content! I can even come to you, perhaps transform your lobby reception area into a dance studio for a night! Just email dharlene@haftvadi.com to start the planning process.
Spring 2010 Session
12-week session: March 22nd to June 17th 2010
Mondays noon: Full-Flow Bellydance. Technique combined with fancy footwork to keep you moving! Beginners with some dance experience are welcome to join, but this isn’t an intro class.
Mondays 7pm: Discover Bellydance. New to the dance? New to putting one foot in front of the other? This is your class! Offered in two six-week sessions. Different introductory content will be offered in each session so you can do one or the other or both! First six-week session starts March 22nd, the second starts May 3rd. Combine with Grooves and Moves for a great introduction to the world of bellydance.
Wednesdays 5:30pm: Advanced Choreography. Advanced choreography doesn’t just mean 50 moves a minute (but it can!), more importantly it means a deep understanding of the music and technique leading to a gorgeous expressive style.
Thursdays 5:30: Bellydance for Continuing Students. (minimum one-session prerequisite) Technique and choreography to take you deeper into the amazing world of middle-eastern dance!
Thursdays 7pm: Grooves and Moves. For dancers who want to express more by knowing more about the music. Classes are 45 minutes of drumming and music instruction, followed by 45 minutes of dancing. Those who don’t want to be dancers, keep practicing your drumming while we learn the steps associated with different rhythms! A fantastic introduction to the rich world of bellydance and its music, for new and continuing students.

Policies
Because different teachers take different approaches, we always recommend that even new students who have already studied elsewhere start in a beginner class. If you will be better suited in an intermediate or advanced class, you’ll be moved up after a week or two.
Registered students should make an effort to come to the regular class they signed up for, since that is best for continuity, but if something comes up and you can’t make it, you’re welcome to come to any other class, including drumming, in order to make it up. You do NOT need to contact the instructor for permission to do this.
To make sure that everyone can take all of the classes they paid for during the session, we allow students to come to any of the other classes during the week. If you know ahead of time that you won’t be able to make a class, come to a different one the week before, you don’t have to wait until the last week of classes.
If you know that your schedule is very erratic, just use the pay-$15-per-class option. If you do end up being able to make all the classes, your total will not exceed the discounted session price, therefore it’s not more expensive to do the pay-per-class option.
Session registration fees are not transferable to the next session and are not refundable.
Haft Vadi teachers live very close to the studio, and can make it in all kinds of weather, and will probably not cancel. If they do, they will make an effort to contact participants ahead of time. Please ensure that you have provided contact information that makes this possible.
