Dharlene Valeda is the founder of Haft Vadi Studio. She first discovered Middle Eastern dance and music while living in Germany in 1990. She began studying intensively with Yasmina Ramzy and Roula Said when she moved to Toronto in 1995. She has travelled far and wide to study with many great dancers, such as Gamila Asfour, Yousry Sharif, Shareen el Safy, Sahra Kent, Ranya, Hadia, Jalilah, to name a few. Studying continues to be a priority with Dharlene, and she enjoys sharing what she has learned in her classes and during performances.
